As applications open for the PitchGovTech competition, find out more about how to apply and what to expect on the day.
PitchGovTech is our flagship startup segment of the GovTech Summit, showcasing some of the most exciting GovTech startups from across the world. Last year, we had over 100 startups apply for our pitch competition from many different countries. PitchGovTech gives 10 of the best GovTech startups the chance to pitch to a panel of leading investors and an audience of government officials, corporates, academics, and innovators. Applications are now open to apply for PitchGovTech – and each entrant will be entered into a draw to win free tickets to the GovTech Summit – so apply here.
1️⃣ How does it work on the day?
Ten startups will be selected to pitch for three minutes, followed by two minutes of Q&A by the judging panel. The winning startups will be announced at the end of the day, during the closing keynote session.
2️⃣ How do I apply and what do I need for the application?
The application consists of a few short questions on your business – on your team, any funding you’ve received, and the public sector problem you are solving. Other than that, you just need to include a pitch deck! A demo/video is also helpful, but not required. It should not take more than 20 minutes in total.
3️⃣ What are we looking for?
We’re looking for exciting startups from across the globe, taking on the public sector in innovative and transformative ways – whether that’s healthcare, mobility, education, smart cities or anything in between. We’ll evaluate your company based on your value proposition, the impact you could have on the public sector, and your team.
4️⃣ What are the next steps?
After you submit your application, an independent panel of judges will review it and shortlist companies. This will be followed by a video interview, after which we will announce the startups who will be pitching on the day.
